Energize

In an effort to keep a very broad topic brief, let me begin with just this: All living organisms emit a field of vibratory energy known as the ‘aura’.  Spinning centers of energy embedded within the aura, called ‘chakras’, both send and receive life force energy, or 'chi'.  The chakras located in the palms of your hands can be intentionally used to increase the chi in specific parts of the body to revitalize and heal as needed.

Take 5...
and place your hands on a part of your body where you would like to increase the life force.  Now bring your attention to the area at the top of your head. This is known as the crown chakra.  As you breathe deeply, simply visualize a stream of white light energy flowing into your head, traveling down through your arms and out of your palms.  Continue deep breathing while keeping your hands on the area until you sense the energy flowing.  Trust yourself and your intuition.  This might come as a thought, a feeling, an instinct - everyone notices energy in their own way.

As the energy begins to flow you may treat different areas.  However, **please avoid** direct energizing of the eyes, the front of the heart, the spleen area and the area of the back which is opposite the navel. These are sensitive areas and should be treated only by a trained energy worker.  Never treat others without professional training. This information is intended for personal healing only.

Balancing Breath

I have found using the breath to be the most effective, efficient and powerful way to add sparkle and vibrancy to my body, mind and spirit and I love sharing breathwork techniques with those who seek a simple means to do the same.
Try this one on....

Balancing Breath for Centering Self
(aka Alternate Nostril Breathing)
When energy is not balanced, one of the most visible ways in which this is seen is in the nostrils. Most of the time, one or the other nostril is more dominant, allowing air to move more freely. This is a natural process, however, Alternate Nostril Breathing can help regulate the physical breath and balance the flow of air through both nostrils. This effects the autonomic nervous system and brings balance by allowing energy to flow in the center, rather than on the left or right side. In this state, the mind relaxes and the body is cleared of impurities.
Use this breath for centering, balancing and clearing the body of toxins. A must after having been exposed to any toxic fumes.

Take 5...
and place the thumb of the right hand over the right nostril and plug it while exhaling through the left nostril. Now breathe into the left nostril to the count of 8. With the tips of the pointer and middle fingers resting on the third eye (point between the eyebrows), hold the breath in to the count of 8. Now plug the left nostril with the ring finger of the right hand and exhale through the right nostril to a count of 8, then hold the breath out for a count of 8. Again plug the right nostril with the thumb and repeat the cycle ten times.

Open Breathing

Breath is Life. The breath brings both oxygen and life force energy, also known in many world cultures as prana or chi, to all of the cells in your body. When you consciously breathe a deep open breath using your full respiratory capacity, you can dramatically increase the amounts of these life and health-giving elements in your body. Not only will this daily practice physically recharge your body, but it will also assist in discharging stress and locked up emotional energy that gets in the way of fully experiencing a joyful life.

Your breath is a metaphor for your life. The way in which you inhale represents the acceptance of good in your life. The way you exhale reflects how you handle negativity and stress. And so, inhaling openly and fully helps to increase the good in your life while exhaling in a relaxed way will assist in letting go of all that isn’t serving you. Furthermore, keeping your breath connected and continuous with no pauses will allow you to flow in and through life with grace and ease.

Take 5...
and begin conscious breathing using these guidelines:
  1. Start your breath all the way down in your belly and let it rise up to expand the rib cage and into the chest and shoulders to a long count of three.
  2. As soon as you are filled with breath, quickly release and relax the exhale without blowing it or controlling it in any way.
  3. As soon as the breath has been expelled, begin inhaling once again. Consciously create a circular pattern of breathing imagining the waves of the ocean ceaselessly rising and falling and rising again.
If you become dizzy, be certain that you are not pushing or blowing out your exhale. This causes the symptoms due to hyperventilation. Conscious, open breathing hyper-oxygenates, increasing oxygen in the body. This, too, can create a sensation of feeling light-headed but will not cause you to pass out. What you are sensing is the increased amount of oxygen and energy in the body. Take 100 breaths each day in five minutes and feel refreshed and energized.
